Grodnenskaja Pushcha

Grodnenskaja Pushcha is one of the most beautiful national parks of the Central Europe.
This State Landscape Reserve is situated in the territory of the Grodno region. It was called one of the most ecologically clean territories of the country.
During its life time the reserve has always been denoted as a plain standard for Europe.
More than 90% of the nature reserve is occupied by the indigenous forests, where 57 forests’ types and 12 forest formations are registered.
The fauna of the Pushcha is inhabited by 41 species of mammals, 131 species of birds, 12 species of amphibians and 5 species of reptiles.
In spite of the variety of nature, the main tourist attractions are the sluices of the Avgustov canal.
Today Grodnenskaja pushcha has a status of biosphere reserve. This zone was created on the base of the local reserves, they are Sopotskinskino and Gozha.
The territory of the reserve counts 20.903 hectares.
